On PC, Hitman 3 will be an Epic Games Store exclusive
Hitman 3 will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on Windows PC when the game launches in January 2021, developer IO Interactive announced Thursday.
IO’s deal with Epic, which lasts 12 months, “has given us the freedom to create Hitman 3 exactly as we imagined and self-publish the game to our players directly,” the studio said in a statement. Hitman 3 is touted to be one of the biggest next gen console reveal, so here's what you need to know about it.
Hitman 3 will hit all major gaming platforms, but only the Epic Games Store on PC
The Hitman 3 game was first announced for all major platforms earlier this summer along with the PS5. Since IO games is not a part of Playstation Studios, the game will be coming out for all platforms including PC, PS4, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X.
Fans are eagerly waiting to play the game and now it has been revealed that on PC, the game will be an Epic Games Store exclusive. This means that those looking to expand their Steam library will have to wait 12 months.
The Hitman developer added, “It’s also important to us that we honour the time our existing PC players have spent in our previous games.” Players on PC will be able to carry over progression from Hitman 2 on Steam to Hitman 3 on the Epic Games Store, and they’ll also be able to import locations from Hitman and Hitman 2 to Hitman 3.
Alongside the Epic Games Store announcement, IO Interactive revealed a new location coming to Hitman 3: Dartmoor, England. Players can explore Dartmoor’s historic, rural countryside and piece together a murder mystery at Thornbridge Manor, where they’ll “take on the role of detective to solve a murder and eliminate your target."
The other location from the game, Dubai, was showed off earlier at the PS5 conference.
