HenryG is the new General Manager of Team Cloud9
CS:GO personality Henry "HenryG" Greer, who quit his broadcasting role couple of days ago, is now the general manager of CS:GO at Cloud9.
He will be responsible for building a new CS:GO roster for Cloud9 along with Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović who coached 100 Thieves before parting ways with the team in late April.
Rising from the ashes
Speaking with Dexerto, HenryG commented that he has "absolute control" over the lineup and shared his ambitions of building a team that will help Cloud9 reach the top of the competitive ladder. Cloud9 won the Boston Major in 2018. But after that, there have not been any notable achievements from them other than managing to qualify for DreamHack Leipzig and IEM Katowice.
He further adds, "C9 have entrusted me with their entire CS:GO dynasty and, honestly, I think that's one of the boldest moves any org has made in a long time," he told Dexerto. "I'm aware there is a certain level of expectation going forward now. Failure simply isn't an option."
Kassad who is considered to be one of the best coaches in CS:GO, given his record of improving teams seems to be a perfect choice as the future coach of the new Cloud9 CS:GO roster. Cloud9 is one of the most respectable orgs in esports and we are going to make sure we put in everything we have to build the CSGO team they deserve.”
Noted esports journalist Duncan "Thorin" Shields posted a video on Youtube where he along with other CS:GO personalities wished him well for his new venture.
With HenryG as the General Manager and Kassad as the future coach, the future of Cloud9 in CS:GO looks promising. Fans will hope that this will mark the beginning of a new era.
