Call of Duty: Warzone will soon have lobbies just for hackers

If there is one thing that all gamers hate with a passion, it is hackers. These groups of toxic gamers ruin the fun for everyone and clearly have an unfair advantage over the other, casual players.

Call of Duty Warzone, Activision’s latest battle royale title is no different. Since the game is free to play, there are more hackers in here than one would expect. To combat, this there are a slew of anti-cheat measures that the developers have put in place, but now, things are about to change.

Hacker vs Hacker

In an effort to clean out casual player lobbies, Call of Duty developers have announced that they will have seperate matchmaking and lobbies for hackers. Essentially, these hackers will be pitted against one another just to show them how infuriating such a thing can be.

How will the hackers be identified?

This one is quite simple. While many hackers are good at hiding the fact that they are using unfair means to get ahead of other gamers, some of them aren’t that smart. When spectating a player, you can report them if you feel they’re hacking.

Following that, a report is sent to the developers and the anti-cheat team, who then go over the player’s games. If the player is indeed a hacker, matchmaking preferences will be changed. Additionally, the player who reports the hacker will also be given some sort of a reward.

The update by Infinity Ward has just gone live and it will take some time to actually see the complete benefits of the new matchmaking system. Additionally, fans of the game have also warned that this reporting system is something that shouldn’t be exploited by players.
