Bethesda Softworks announces a new Indiana Jones games along with developer MachineGames
Video game publisher Bethesda Softworks recently announced that they are working on a new Indiana Jones game along with developer MachineGames. The game will have an original story and will be executive produced by Todd Howard in collaboration with Lucas Films.
There isn't much to go on about the game and Bethesda says it'll be some time before they can reveal anything else. But fans can hope that a collaboration between the makers of Doom and Wolfenstein will result in a top-notch action-adventure title.
Will the new Indiana Jones game be an Xbox exclusive?
Although this announcement has stirred excitement among fans, it also raises an important question that will the new Indiana Jones game be an Xbox exclusive? Because back in September, Microsoft purchased Zenimax Media which is the parent company of Bethesda Softworks and its many studios. This has caused fans to wonder if this new Indiana Jones game will launch only on Xbox Series X/S.
In November, Xbox CFO Jim Stuart said in a Jefferies Interactive Entertainment conference that Microsoft "has no intention of pulling all of Bethesda content out of Sony or Nintendo or otherwise," and Microsoft plans to offer the best possible gameplay experience with Bethesda games on their platforms. This means that future Bethesda games will be available on multiple platforms but they will perform better on Microsoft platforms.
As far as the new Indiana Jones game is concerned, there isn't any concrete information available regarding release date, platforms it will be released on or the title of the game. What we know is, Dr. Henry "Indie" Jones will now be a playable character with his iconic fedora and bullwhip.
