Pokemon Sword/Shield gets The Crown Tundra expansion pack

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are two popular pokemon role-playing games exclusively for Nintendo Switch. The game was initially released on 15 November 2019 in singleplayer and multiplayer modes.

Game Freak, who is the developer of Pokemon Sword/Shield, announced to expansion packs as downloadable content for the games. The first one called The Isle of Armor was released on 17 June 2020 and the second expansion pack called The Crown Tundra was released yesterday on 22 October 2020 which will be available after installing the new 1.3.0 update and you will also need to purchase the expansion pack.

With that being said,Let's take a look at what's included in this latest expansion pack.

New legendaries, characters and more

The Isle of Armor featured an armor off the coast of Galar and the dojo of the former champion of Galar was also located on The Isle of Armor. On The Isle of Armor, players were introduced to a new legendary pokemon called Kubfu and players had to train and evolve it into one of two forms of the pokemon Urshifu.

The second expansion pack The Crown Tundra takes players into a land engulfed by snow where a man named Peony will task you with exploring the frozen landmass. You will soon discover the depths of this landscape where people live in small communities and survive by relying on and supporting each other.

New Legendaries

Just like the Kubfu was introduced in The Isle of Armor, there are few legendaries hiding in The Crown Tundra as well. Some of the newly discovered legendaries are- The Electric-type Regieleki and the Dragon-type Regidrago.

There has also been sightings of pokemon with a strong resemblance to the legendary birds Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. These varients are called the Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres each with a unique signature move.

Additionally, the new expansion pack also introduces us to New Characters, Dynamax Adventure and Galarian Star Tournament. Several new pokemon have also been added to The Crown Tundra expansion pack. You can read the detailed version of the release notes here.
