Rocksteady Studios announces an all new Suicide Squad game set in Metropolis
Rocksteady Studios has just dropped the first official teaser trailer for their upcoming project - Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League at DC Fandome. At the event, another DC game was announced.
Considering it is just a teaser trailer, it does give us some idea of what the game is trying to be, or what it's story will be. However, we do not have any gameplay footage yet. Since the game will come out in 2022, it is being built for next generation hardware.
An interesting take on the Antihero Adventure
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Rocksteady’s new title comes as an outgrowth from their successful Batman: Arkham line of video games that spanned the better part of a decade.
But those four super heroic solo adventures (as Batman, of course) will now give way to a team-up on the anti heroic side of the divide.
The anti heroic side is, of course, Suicide Squad. While the trailer revealed that the team is after Amanda Waller’s Alpha Target: Superman, what’s less clear is just what is making the citizens of Metropolis and their superheroic protector act off his compass.
From what we see, clearly, Brainiac’s ship crash-landed in Metropolis, so some of the bad guys running around causing havoc could be his minions.
What's even more intriguing is why the Suicide Squad are being sent on a mission to take on not just Superman, but all of the Justice League. With Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, DC fans have a chance to take on their heroes.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will come out in 2022 for all the then prevailing consoles.
