Valorant Patch 1.07 is here and Killjoy gets her first major update, Sage gets a major nerf, Breach gets a major buff, Vandal is buffed, Shotgun aimpunch and tagging have been tuned and Viper and Sova receive changes in terms of Quality of Life.
We also see the introduction of two new features, Match Remake and Icognito Mode that are aimed towards making the matchmaking experience much better.
Sage gets a major nerf as Riot's goal is to reduce the amount of healing done throughout the round, slightly reduce the power of the Slow Orb and to increase counterplay on the Barrier. The following changes were made-
Heal reduced from 100 over 5 seconds to 60 over 5 seconds.
Self heal reduced from 100 over 5 seconds to 60 over 10 seconds.
Slow Orb size reduced by 30%.
Barrier Orb cost reduced from 400 to 300.
Fortifying Barrier: Wall forms at 400 HP after a 3-second delay, the wall becomes fortified to 800 HP.
Killjoy gets her first update after her addition to the game in Episode 1 Act 2. Killjoy's Nanoswarm receives a nerf as Riot's goal is to empower counterplay against her Nanoswarm as it is dealing too much damage. The following changes were made-
Nanoswarm Damage Per Second reduced from 60 to 40
A brief windup before damage begins has been added.
Visual effects have been added to make it easier to spot the grenade on the ground Stealth audio range has been slightly increased.
The Turret is no longer revealed by Sova’s Recon Bolt.
The Turret more effectively shoots at an enemy’s last known location.
Breach gets a major buff as Riot thinks that the flash’s power was pretty good but too few charges were holding him back on being able to provide good value for his team. The following changes were made-
Off-screen flashes now match behavior of other flashes in the game and apply a minimum amount of flash more aggressively.
Flashpoint charges increased from 2 to 3.
Flashpoint windup time reduced from 0.6 seconds to 0.5 seconds.
Deonation delay between blasts decreased from 0.3 in 0.255 in Rolling Thunder.
Concussion now de-scopes players and prevents re-scoping.
Viper receives some worthy changes which will make her abilities more useful for her allies and reduce collateral damages. The following changes were made-
Toxic Screen can now be placed during the buy phase of rounds, through spawn barriers.
Toxic Screen now goes up faster along it’s full length, once it starts to form.
Decay on all smoke abilities no longer affects allies..
The area of Viper’s Pit is now shown on her team’s minimap when deployed
Sova receives minor quality of life changes-
The physics on Sova’s cape have been updated, so that it should wiggle outside his hitbox less frequently
Polish work on Sova’s 1P hands to bring them up to the fidelity bar of the rest of our agents.
Vandal receives a buff as Riot's goal is to bring the Vandal in closer competition to the Phantom. The following changes were made-
Increased firing rate from 9.25 to 9.75.
Increased damage from 39 to 40.
Shorty receives a nerf as Riot's goal is to make Shorty users work a little harder for the kills. The following changes were made-
1st falloff range reduced from 9m to 7m.
Updated headshot multiplier from 3x to 2x.
Riot's goal here is to see if giving the Judge a little hit paired with the other shotgun changes moves the needle when playing against this gun. Hence the price of the Judge has been increased from 1500 to 1600.
Shotguns- Aimpuch and Tagging
Riot's goal of these changes is to improve the feel of playing against shotguns-
All shotguns receive an aimpunch update, when getting headshot by a shotgun, the aimpunch will be lower than all the other weapons.
All shotguns tagging have been tuned for targets beyond 10 meters.
Riot has introduced the Remake Match feature that allows players to end a match if it begins with a 4v5 or more lopsided teams. Players will now have an option to end the game they’re in and queue for a new one. If any player is disconnected at the start of the match (beginning of buy phase) through the entire first round, a remake call may be triggered at the start of the second round by typing /remake in chat
Riot has introduced Incognito Mode for anyone who wants to keep their identity private. Riot has added the following features-
Hide my name from non-party members (Agent name will be used)
Hide the names of others in my game who aren't in my party (Agent names will be shown)
These features take effect from agent select to game end. We also added an option to hide + auto-reject friend requests.
Hit Impact Vfx Update
Riot has made some small adjustments to Hit VFX to try and improve hit registration clarity. With how sensitive changes around hit registration can be, Riot will be keeping an eye on player feedback on these changes and make adjustments accordingly.
