Latest Steam update adds new ways to view your game library and explore the store
Yesterday, Valve's online video game store, Steam pushed out a new update with a slew of new additions and a host of experimental features. One of the new features is that Steam now shows your 'Perfect Games', i.e, games that you have completed 100%. Along with this, there is a new way to browse for the latest and trending games.
The player profile page will soon be revamped to show these games to the public and to your friends. Additionally, the marketplace has been updated to show games which better fit your tastes. Here's what you need to know about the new changes.
What's new in Steam?
The new activity tab under the games section will now show you games that you have, as the kids call it, "Platinumed". These are the games where you have gained each and every trophy there is to earn. This means that even multiplayer games such as Apex Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive and others can also pop up on this page.
The experimental features in Steam can be accessed on Steamlabs. One of these experimental features includes the addition of a News and Newsworthy tab, which will show you relevant information regarding the games that you have taken an interest in.
Not only that, another experimental feature has been added to show a categories tab. In that, you will find new ways to explore Steam, divided up into Special Sections, Genres (with subgenres under that, Themes and Social & Players (divided into cooperative, LAN, singleplayer).
As of now, there is no word on when the experimental features will hit the official update. However, seeing as it has already been added to Steamlabs, it is only a matter of time until all users start seeing it.
