Nintendo Switch exclusive "No More Heroes 3" delayed until 2021
No More Heroes 3, developed and published by Grasshopper Manufacture exclusively for Nintendo Switch has been delayed due to COVID19 pandemic.
The game was announced at E3 2019 as part of the Nintendo Direct showcase. The trailer featured the series protagonist Travis Touchdown battling invading aliens.
Focusing on quality
Goichi Suda, director of the No More Heroes series and Founder of Grasshopper Manufacture, issued a statement on twitter regarding the delay.
"All staff members at Grasshopper have been working as hard as possible on developing the game in hopes of releasing it in 2020, but the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have unfortunately proven to be a real body blow to our schedule, causing unforeseen delays in development. Now that we have managed to get back on our feet with development, we have decided to focus on prioritizing quality, and to therefore push back the final release date."
As of November 2019, this hack and slash action-adventure game was 35%-45% complete.
He also added that noted American artist and co-creator of the comic "The Boys," Darick Robertson will be joining their team to provide illustrations for the game.
The saga continues
No More Heroes 3 takes place 9 years after No More Heroes 2 and 2 years after Travis Strikes Again. No More Heroes 2 was released only on the Wii and Travis Strikes Again was released for PS4, Windows and Nintendo Switch.
No More Heroes 3 will be exclusively released on Nintendo Switch in 2021.
