Nintendo marks 35th anniversary of iconic Super Mario Bros. with remakes and other releases

One of the games to be released is the Super Mario 3D All-Stars

Since first appearing in public in 1985, Super Mario Bros. has had many iterations, each more entertaining than the last. After its last release of Super Mario Maker 2 in June 2019, the franchise is set to make a comeback.

For Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary, Nintendo will release several iconic games on their Nintendo Switch systems along with a new Super Mario Bros. game and new merch.

A Mario Battle Royale

Among the assortment of games, events and products, Nintendo is releasing on the franchise's 35th anniversary, one of the games is the Super Mario 3D All-Stars for their Switch system.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is combination of optimized versions of three 3D Mario games- Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. Not only these games have a higher resolution than the originals, they offer a smooth gameplay experience on Nintendo Switch.

The release also includes Super Mario Bros. 35 which is an online competitive battle royale style game. In this Nintendo Switch Online members exclusive, 'last man standing' game, 35 players will compete, trying to outpace each other to be the last man standing. It launches on October 1st and will be playable until March 31st, 2021.

Additionally, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, another multiplayer game exclusively for Online members, features co-op gameplay.

Other events

Until March 2021, many more events will be featured to mark the 35th anniversary. This includes a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. An in-game online tournament using Super Mario series fighters, stages and items.
