PUBG Mobile was the second highest-grossing game in December 2020

Data analytics site Sensor Tower has put out a report which states that PUBG Corporation and Tencent's popular battle royale title PUBG Mobile generated a revenue of $117 million worldwide in December 2020. This made PUBG Mobile the second highest-grossing mobile game in the world in December.

About 56% of the December 2020 revenue came from China, and compared to 2019, PUBG Mobile witnessed a 7.5% growth in revenue. PUBG Mobile was also the highest-grossing mobile title of 2020 in the world with a revenue of $2.6 billion.

Honor of Kings which is another multiplayer RPG under Tencent's banner was the highest-grossing game of December 2020 in the world. Honor of Kings generated a revenue of $258 million in player spending. Honor of Kings generated a revenue of $2.5 billion in the year 2020 which made it the second-highest grossing mobile game in the world after PUBG Mobile.

PUBG Mobile is still banned in India

Even if PUBG Mobile is banned in India, the game has a strong footing in the rest of world especially, in China. It doesn't look like the game will be unbanned any time soon as the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India continues to deny permission for the games launch. PUBG Mobile also got the 1.2 Runic Power update which went live yesterday featuring a new game mode and rewards for players.

FAU-G set to launch soon

Meanwhile, FAU-G from nCore Games is set to launch on January 26. Pre-registrations for FAU-G for Android devices went live on November 30 and within 24 hours, the game received 1.6 million pre-registrations.
