PUBG Mobile India officials request meeting with the Ministry: report

Officials have been left frustrated due to repeated rejections

Last week, sources from the Ministry of Electronics and Information technology [MEITY] told InsideSPORT that PUBG Mobile India has not yet received sanction for launch from the MEITY even though it was officially registered as a company named PUBG India Pvt. Ltd. under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

“Any banned entity can’t operate just by floating new company. This even Tik Tok or anyone else can do. They will have to get permissions from MEITY to operate once again in India”, said one of the ministry source.

According to a new report by InsideSPORT, the officials of the newly born PUBG India Pvt. Ltd. have requested MEITY for a meeting. The concerned executives of PUBG have been repeatedly requesting ministry for a meeting but the sources say that the ‘request is yet to be granted by the MEITY’.

PUBG Mobile is craving to relaunch in India

Sources from PUBG India Pvt. Ltd told InsideSPORT that, "the proposed meeting will decide if permission to Relaunch can be granted to PUBG or not". The source further added that ‘In the current circumstances it will not be easy for the game to relaunch themselves before Jan-Feb next year and that too will depend on the stance of the government’.

The officials have been left frustrated due to the communication gap formed between them and the Ministry.

For the unaware- PUBG Mobile was banned in India on September 2nd along with the other 118 Chinese Apps due to rising tensions between India and China.

In early November, PUBG Corp. and Krafton announced an Indian version of the game- PUBG Mobile India that will always maintain user privacy and will create a healthy gaming environment. Since this announcement, no real developments have been seen regarding the launch other than coming soon messages and teasers.
