Following ban on the iOS app store, Apple iPhones with Fortnite are selling for more than $1000

Every year, when a new iPhone comes out, it is priced at or more than $1,000. This year, the iPhones selling for that much of a price aren't even the latest ones. These are the iPhones which have Fortnite installed on them, prior to being banned on the Apple iOS app store.

Ever since Fortnite was banned on Apple and Android smartphones, the future of Fortnite on mobile has remained uncertain. Epic games wants its own app store for these devices, but Google and Apple are not having it.

iPhones (and Android phones) with Fortnite installed are selling at ridiculous prices

According to a Business Insider report, some of iPhone these listings have prices as high as $10,000 ( ₹7,49,195 approx). The iPhones on offer are a mix of high-end models and older ones, used models mostly and the only thing they all have in common is that they have Fortnite on it.

As of now, it is not clear whether people are actually buying these phones or not. However, sellers are still putting them up for prices way more than even $1,000.

The Next Web reports that they also spotted some Android devices on offer as well, but of course, they were not as expensive as the iPhones. This is of course related to the fact that you can still get the game on Android devices, just not from the Play Store.

To recall, Epic Games’ Fortnite has been removed from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store after the developer put in a direct payment option in-game to avoid the 30% fee both the app stores charge on in-app purchases. Epic then went ahead and sued both Apple and Google for anti-competitive practices and exploitative app store policies.
