Mistwood update for DOTA2 goes live featuring new hero, abilities and items
Video game developer Valve has rolled out a huge update for their Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) title DOTA2. Patch 7.28 which is the Mistwood update features a new hero, new hero abilities, new items, and, much more.
DOTA2 is one of the most popular multiplayer games in world alongside CS:GO, League of Legends, and Valorant. DOTA2's biggest esports tournament, The International features the biggest prize pools among any other esports tournament.
The new female hero which created a lot of hype in the DOTA2 community and is being introduced with this update is Hoodwink. She is a ranged hero who specializes in the nuker and disabler roles and is fit to make a quick escape. She has abilities like Acorn Shot, Bushwhack, Scurry, and Sharpshooter.
New items and hero changes
The new item is the Aghanim's Shard which costs 1400 gold and gives all the heroes a custom shard upgrade which permanently gives them a new ability or improves an existing one. It can be purchased after 20mins in-game and is immediately consumed by your hero. You can check what abilities the shard gives in the hero UI.

The update also brings various new items each with their unique effect and different costs. The new items are-
Fluffy Hat, Falcon Blade, Orb of Corrosion, Witch Blade, Gleipnir, Mage Slayer, Eternal Shroud, Swift Blink, Arcane Blink, Overwhelming Blink, Helm of Dominator, Wind Waker. Apart from this various Tier1, Tier2, Tier3, Tier 4 items are also added. The update also balances a variety of already existing items.
