JioMart Gameathon 2020: XZT esports wins FreeFire tournament

XTZ esports were crowned as the winners of the first JioMart Gameathon 2020 Free Fire Grand Final, that was held yesterday. Four Unkown were crowned the runner up. The MVP of the tournament was Ginotra from XTZ esports, who secured a total of 40 kills in the whole tournament.

The 2nd and 3rd runner ups of the tournament were The Underdogs and NooB KinGz.

XTZ esports, the winning team took home a prize of ₹16,000 cash, and Four Unkown, the 1st runner up took home a prize of ₹8000 cash. XTZ Ginotra, the MVP of the tournament took home a prize of ₹1000 cash.

Tournament Summary

The Grand Finale featured the top 12 teams out of the participating 192 teams. The 12 qualified teams that played in the grand finals are as follows:

5 matches were played in the Grand Finals. The first match that was played on Bermuda was won by Four Unknowns who secured 13 kills. The second match that was played on Kalahari was won by Team Underdogs who secured 8 kills. The third and fourth matches that were played on Purgatory and Kalahari, were won by XTZ esports where they managed to get 14 and 9 kills respectively. The fifth match on Bermuda was won by Four Unknowns where they scored 12 kills.

The winners, XTZ esports had a total score of 179 points and a total of 46 kills. The 1st runner up, Four Unknown had a total score of 154 points and a total of 43 kills. XTZ Ginotra bagged 40 kills, out of XTZ's total of 46 kills, hence he was crowned as the MVP of the tournament.

About Jio Gameathon Free Fire

Jio had announced the JioMart Gameathon for Free Fire with a prize pool of Rs. 25,000. The tournament was conducted over 3 days from 30th October to 1st November. The JioMart Gameathon was a single-stage tournament with a total of 192 teams participating and was divided into four rounds. The tournament was held on the JioGames platform.

This was the first esports tournament that was organized by the telecom giant Jio and marked Jio's entry into the world of esports.
