Here's what we know about the new Axolotl Mob in Minecraft

Last month, at the Minecraft Live event, one of the biggest updates for Minecraft was announced called the Caves and Cliffs update. This new update will be released in mid-2021 featuring new, exciting game elements.

We know some of the biggest changes this update brings is the introduction of a new Mob- Glow Squid. Additionally, Minecraft Dungeons will be getting cross-play in this month itself and a Howling Peaks DLC releases next month. Apart from this, the Caves and Cliffs update will another Mob to the game- Axolotl.

Axolotl is critically endangered yet peculiar creatures with regenerative capabilities. These amphibians are capable of regenerating their lost appendages in just a couple of months time.

Seen in green, pink, brown, yellow colours, Axolotls appear in the Lush Caves biome in the Caves and Cliffs update. The Lush Caves biome bring unexpected, beautiful greenery to the deep underground areas with azalea trees growing above. Start digging underneath their roots and it will eventually take you towards the Axolotl caverns. You will Axolotls here, swimming underwater.

Behaviour of Axolotl

Axolotls are a generally neutral aquatic Mob, but they will attack other Mobs and the player as well if provoked. The player can tame the Axolotl if he manages to pick it in a bucket. The player can then set these creatures free in more common aquatic environments or use them in marine adventures to help fight against Drowneds, Guardians, and Elder Guardians.
