Valorant for Consoles may be out soon

Riot Games said that they are currently developing a prototype of a console version

Valorant is one of the most popular games of 2020. The tactical 5v5 shooter is gaining popularity since its launch in June due to it's unique game meta, which is inspired from other popular FPS titles like CS:GO, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege and the likes.

As of now Valorant is only available on PC, mainly because the gameplay completely revolves around a mouse and keyboard, for a key reason- precision. Developers are currently working on making the game playable on console platforms.

Here is what the developers have to say

The developers are currently prototyping a console version of Valorant, The executive producer of Valorant, Anna Donlon told GameSpot but she clearly mentioned that there’s no guarantee that you’ll ever be able to play Valorant on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4 or PS5.

"There's a way to play this game and there's a way to experience this game that we're not entirely sure translates completely to console play,” she said. "If we feel like we can deliver this experience on those platforms, we absolutely will. But we really want Valorant to stand for a certain type of gameplay and a certain type of experience."

Unless Riot is able to crack that issue or find out a way to deliver the same experience on consoles, you shouldn't get your expectations too high about playing Valorant on console platforms.
