Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one of the top selling games in the US this year
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, has become, at least in the US, the second best selling game of the past 12 months, leading up to October 2020. Developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, the game was first released on November 15, 2019, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on November 24, 2020 for Stadia.
According to the sales tracking group NPD, the singleplayer action-adventure falls only behind Activision Blizzard's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has exceeded EA's expectations to become one of their best selling titles.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order beats some big titles
The list ranks games by the dollar sales they have made and covers only retail and digitally sold versions, it does not include DLC sales. Also, NPD does not get digital sales information for Nintendo games. If digital sales were being counted, Animal Crossing: New Horizons would be on top followed by Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Mario Kart 8: Deluxe.
Also, if digital sales are counted Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order does not make it in the top 10 but nevertheless, the game has been received well by fans and it's success is commendable. Fallen Order has beaten giant game titles like Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us: Part II, and Final Fantasy VII: Remake.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen order is set five years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. The game follows Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis who is being hunted throughout the galaxy by two Inquisitors while trying to rebuild the fallen Jedi Order.
