Sony at CES 2021: GhostWire: Tokyo is most likely to release in October 2021 for the PS5
At CES 2021, Sony had a rather low key presentation. In the presentation, Sony showcased a slew of PS5 which were announced earlier last year and gave us an idea of when to expect these games on our consoles. One of the games was GhostWire: Tokyo, which was first showcased during E3 2019.
The game is being developed by Tango Gameworks, which comes under the wing of Bethesda. There was a lot of speculation surrounding the release date of GhostWire: Tokyo and now, Sony has confirmed that the game will launch for the PlayStation 5 console in October 2021.
The neo-horror FPS set in modern Japan finally has a release window
This comes as a surprise, as Sony had not announced that they would be hosting a conference of their own during CES 2021. The Playstation 5 release date of GhostWire: Tokyo has been confirmed to be in October, but there is no word on the PC release of the game.
When the game was teased in 2019 and 2020, it was confirmed that GhostWire: Tokyo would be a PS5 console exclusive and that it would come to Windows PCs.
Bethesda has not given any official word regarding the game yet, especially regarding the PC version.
As it is, we don't know much about the game apart from the fact that it will be set in Tokyo, and will be an FPS game with some horror elements. The story trailer as well as the gameplay trailer give us very little information about the game itself, except for the fact that your character has a set of special abilities which can be used to ward of the bad guys in the game.
Interestingly, Microsoft had purchased Bethesda in September and this is a game by Tango Gameworks, which comes under Bethesda. During the same time, Microsoft confirmed that PS exclusive games would stay exclusive.
