Sci-Fi action RPG The Outer Worlds is coming to Steam on October 23

The Outer Worlds is a popular action role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Private Division. The game was released on October 25, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows and later on 5 June 2020 for Nintendo Switch.

The game was made available only on Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store with the Steam release being delayed but Obsidian Entertainment recently announced on Twitter that the game is all set to release on Steam on October 23 2020, one year after the initial release.

Sci-Fi RPG coming to Valve's storefron

Set in an alternate future where mega capitalist corporations rule the solar system, this singleplayer RPG managed to entice gamers with its narrative, graphics, and dynamic gameplay. The fate of the solar system depends on you.

This Sci-Fi game is highly choice-based. You are required to navigate through various factions, and communities, and ultimately decide if you want to foster peace or further conflict.

Similar to developer Obsidian’s iconic RPG's Fallout: New Vegas, and Dungeon Siege III, The Outer World is highly action-packed with some retro elements visible here and there.

The Outer Worlds was heavily favoured by critics. In 2019, it was nominated across nine different categories in three different awards where it won the Game Critics Award for the Best Original Game.

In 2020, it won-

  • RPG Game of the Year award at the 23rd Annual D.I.C.E Awards

  • Most Promising New Intellectual Property award at the SXSW Gaming Awards

  • Outstanding Game Award at the GLAAD Media Awards

  • 2020 Nebula Award for Best Game Writing.

Steam price for The Outer Worlds is not yet listed but it is expected to be around $50-$60 similar to the cost on the Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store.
