Microsoft confirms vaping is bad for your Xbox Series X console no matter how cool it looks
In a rather interesting turn of events, Microsoft has had to tell its users that vaping can be really bad for your shiny new Xbox Series X console. Sounds bizarre, doesn't it? But as it turns out a few users have been experimenting with vaping and their Xbox Series X.
A video of a user went viral when they showed the top part of the console (you know, the one that triggers trypophobia), exuding inhumane amounts of smoke. Following this, Xbox had to tweet a response. So, here's what actually went down.
Here's what happened
The video which was uploaded claimed that 'smoke' was billowing out of the top of a brand new Xbox Series X and that it was the result of the console shutting itself down due to a fault.
While it was pretty clear that this was a shot at spreading misinformation, people were tricked into thinking their new Xbox would be faulty.
Soon enough, a Twitter user shut down the misinforming video by replicating a similar effect using a vape. As it turns out, the fans keep whirring for a long enough period of time to blow out the vape smoke from the top holes of the console, giving it a smoky look.
The vertical design of the console makes it easy for the smoke (and heat) to travel up through the channels, which, as Microsoft confirms, can be bad for your Xbox Series X. While the heat is unlikely to cause damage temperature-sensitive parts may take a hit.
