Here's how Doom Eternal upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X will work
Doom Eternal is one of the best games to come out of 2019. The game can be enjoyed on PC, PS4, Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch and even Google Stadia. Now, Bethesda developers have revealed details about how the game will be updated to PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles.
If you want to revisit Doom Eternal on newer consoles, Bethesda has confirmed that it will be possible. At the same time, they also stated that while the game will receive a free upgrade to the next gen consoles, the enhanced versions will come later.
Doom Eternal on next gen consoles will be an experience worth checking out
To put things simply, you will be able to play doom eternal on your next generation console, without a hitch, free of cost, if you already own an Xbox or Playstation version of the game. Incidentally, this also means that as of now, you won't be able to unlock the full potential of the game on your console.
Bethesda has clarified that they will push out future updates which will enable Doom Eternal (and a few other games) to run using the full capacity of these powerful next generation consoles.
"We have not announced when these upgrades will be available," the studio says. "Upgrades will apply to both physical and digital versions of the game, but please note that physical versions will not be able to upgrade on the digital-only versions of the next-generation console."
For both versions of the game- on the Xbox One X and Playstation 4, you will need a copy of the game either digitally or on a disc in order to claim the free update. Readers should note that a disc will also be required to play the game.
