Genshin Impact update 1.2 to bring new map and characters

Genshin Impact, the action RPG title developed and published by miHoYo is all set to get a new map in the upcoming update. Update 1.2 was announced on the PlayStation Blog and it will go live later this month on December 23.

Update 1.2 and an upcoming winter event called "The Chalk Prince and the Dragon" will introduce the players to new characters, new monsters and a brand new map- Dragonspine. Being "one of the most inhospitable areas in Teyvat", Dragonspine is a frozen mountain range in the south of Monstadt.

Explore the vast cold region of Dragonspine

Dragonspine is covered in snow all year round. This new map offers an immersive environment and also holds within itself some of the deepest secrets of the region for players to uncover.

New creatures, characters and and new features

Dragonspine is home to some of the toughest species like the hilichurls who have had their appearances changed after adopting to the harsh cold of Dragonspine.

Update 1.2 introduces new characters to the game like Ganyu who is a half-human, half-adeptus Cyro archer. Also, players with Adventure Rank 20 and above will be eligible to participate in a special winter event that will see player's assisting the new character Albedo who is the Chief Alchemist and Captain of the Investigation Team of the Knights of Favonius in Monstadt. After completing the event, as a reward, players will get their hands on the powerful sword- Festering Desire.

Genshin Impact was first released in singleplayer and multiplayer modes on September 28 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, and on November 11 for PlayStation 5. The game will also be released on Nintendo Switch sometime in the future.
