Destiny 2 is finally out on Xbox Series and Playstation 5
Destiny 2 is one of Bungie Games' biggest releases. The game came out back in 2017 and is still going strong as a third person multiplayer action looter shooter game. The game is quite popular on all platforms including PC, PS4, Xbox One and even Google Stadia.
Owing to the popularity of Destiny 2, the developers at Bungie studios have finally given the game support for next generation consoles such as the Xbox Series X and S consoles and also the Playstation 5.
Along with this, it was also announced that by next year, it won't matter what system your friends are playing the game on as you will be able to join them regardless of platform owing to cross platform play on Destiny 2.
What does the next gen upgrade of Destiny 2 offer?
The 2017 game has been fully optimized to make the most of the new hardware capabilities of the new consoles which came out this year. On the PS5 and the Xbox Series X, the game will run at constant 60FPS at a resolution of full 4K, rather than being upscaled. On the smaller, more compact Xbox Series S, you can run the game at 60FPS at a full HD resolution of 1080p.
According to Bungie Inc, players on the Xbox Series X and PS5 can also play at frame rates as high as 120FPS in the PvP mode called Crucible.
The game has been optimized for the new consoles so as to make use of the new SSD, custom APUs on the next gen consoles. This also means faster load times and a smoother, lag free gaming experience. Players on the multiplayer mode of the game will especially benefit from 4K 60FPS gaming.
As of now, both the next generation upgrades are free for owners of the game on current generation consoles. Right now, players on PS5 will be able to play with other Playstation players and the same goes for the Xbox.
By next year, it won't matter what system your friends are on as Bungie has confirmed that they will add cross platform play to Destiny 2.
