Arena of Valor International Championship comes to a close with all time high viewership
Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2020, which was the biggest Arena of Valor tournament of 2020 recently came to a close. The tournament featured 12 teams from six regions competing against each other to be crowned as the champions and take home the biggest share from the prize pool of $500,000.
This year the Arena of Valor International Championship 2020 concluded with record number of viewers. Millions tuned in to watch the AIC 2020 which gathered a total of 109 million views in the fully-online edition of the tournament.
MAD Team are the winners of AIC 2020
The grand final took place on December 20 where MAD Team from Taiwan were crowned as champions after defeating team Saigon Phantom from Vietnam. MAD Team took home the AIC 2020 trophy as well as a prize money of $200,000.
AIC 2020 was a completely online tournament organized by Garena, Tencent, and VSPN. The event was watched live by 109 million fans which is double than AIC 2019 which gathered 53 million views. The AIC 2020 Grand Finals saw a peak of whopping 631,029 simultaneous viewers. Owing to such a large viewership, AIC 2020 was named as one of YouTube's most-watched live gaming events of the year.
Due to the COVID19 pandemic and global lockdowns, the majority of esports tournaments and organizations faced disruptions. But that has not dampened their spirits one bit.
