Bioware is working on a new Mass Effect game and Mass Effect Legendary Edition
Earlier this week, on the occasion of N7 day, Bioware announced Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which is a remaster of our favourite Mass Effect games all bundled into one package. Along with that, Bioware also announced a new Mass Effect game.
Bioware detailed all these announcements in a recent blog post. While Mass Effect Legendary Edition comes as a surprise to no one, the announcement of a new game in the series is certainly one worth discussing.
Mass Effect fans, rise up! There's a new game coming
“For many months now, our team at BioWare has been hard at work updating the textures, shaders, models, effects, and technical features of three enormous games,” says the blog post. The post highlights improvements and additions to each game.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition will include a slew of nostalgic additions and features which have been upscaled to make use and take advantage of newer hardware. The collection will include single-player content and DLC from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3, plus promo weapons, armors, and packs.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be available in spring 2021 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, with forwarding compatibility and targeted enhancements on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
As for the next chapter of Mass Effect, we still have no idea on what the setting, story and such details will be like. The next game in the Mass Effect series is still in early stages. That said, Bioware wouldn’t say more on it, the studio said it is “looking forward” to sharing information on it in the future.
