AMD reveals new RX 6000 series GPUs ahead of it's launch

Probably the only GPUs ever to be revealed as a part of a Fortnite level

AMD's next generation 'Big Navi' GPUs will be officially revealed on October 28th. They will feature AMD’s new RDNA 2 architecture that includes real-time, hardware-accelerated ray tracing and variable rate shading. Nvidia has already launched their next generation GPUs.

Ahead of it's launch, AMD decided to show off the hardware design of the RX 6000 series in a way no one would expect. The card was revealed inside of a Fortnite Level.

How to find AMD RX 6000 series GPUs featured in Fortnite's Creative Mode

Earlier this week, AMD tweeted a teaser image of the new GPU along with a message to all Fortnite players that they could hop into Fortnite's Creative Mode and have a look at the card on AMD's Creative Island.

For players who want to hop into the game and check the card out, you’ll need to start a Creative mode game. Once you’re in the game, find the console in the level select area and put in AMD’s code — 8651-9841-1639 — and hop into the level. You’ll load into AMD’s custom graphics-card-inspection level.

Expensive games for the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles will represent 'higher quality experience'

As for the level itself, it’s really just a giant RX 6000 series graphics card floating in midair. Players can run around on top of it or fly around the sides to get a look at the ins and outs. At the end of the day it's not that exciting.

The new AMD GPUs will go head to head with the latest and fastest Nvidia GPUs, which have just entered the market.
