Activision increases player base by launching Call of Duty Mobile in China
Tencent and Activision have expanded into one of the biggest mobile gaming markets by officially launching Call of Duty Mobile in China. The game recorded over 70 million pre-registrations and debuted at No.1 on the iOS game charts.
Call of Duty Mobile already has a massive player base and with the Chinese launch, it will witness a significant surge in numbers in upcoming months. In terms of popularity, the game is right up there alongside PUBG Mobile and Free Fire that are mostly influential in the Chinese market.
Increase in Call of Duty Mobile's reach
Call of Duty Mobile has over 250 million downloads and it has generated a revenue of more than $300 million dollars making it one of the best mobile games. Call of Duty Mobile also won the Mobile Game of the Year Award at The Game Awards 2019 and Mobile Game of the Year Award at the 16th British Academy Games Awards.
Call of Duty Mobile is currently adding new content as a part of Season 13 which went live on December 22. Season 13 features two new maps, new weapons, new game modes, and more.
While Free Fire and PUBG Mobile have fierce competition between them in terms of player base, revenue, and esports tournaments, Call of Duty Mobile is also not far behind. Tournaments are also frequently organized where we see hundreds of teams participating and competing for their share from massive prize pools. Recently, Loco and Activision also teamed up to introduce the Call of Duty Mobile India Cup which is the biggest Call of Duty Mobile tournament in India.
