12th IESF World Championship Regional Qualifier dates announced

A record 60 countries to participate in upcoming Esports World Championship

IESF Esports World Championship is the International Esports Federation's flagship competition, where players from all over the world participate in a unique and vibrant tournament while representing their national flag. The event is the only major Esports tournament featuring national teams.

IESF has announced the dates for its upcoming Regional Tournaments of 12th Esports World Championship, Eilat 2020, which is scheduled online from October 20 to November 22. During the tournament, DOTA 2, Tekken 7 and eFootball PES Series will be featured as official titles and Audition as a promoted title.

India is all set to play in the South Asian Regional Qualifiers

The Regional Qualifiers will see 10 different regions taking part where the Indian contingent is placed in the South Asia Region alongside Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Maldives. “Indian contingent will be a tough one to beat, I’m pretty confident that they will not just give tough competitions but also aim for a podium finish," Lokesh Suji, Director of Esports Federation of India, said.

The national champions Moinuddin Amdani (PES 2020), Abhinav Tejan (Tekken7), and four-member Team Random (Dota 2), is all set to represent the country at the Regional Qualifiers of the 12th Esports World Championship.

The Dota 2 team, comprising Omkar Urunkar, Khaja Hussain, Amit Malwal, Omkar Gharat and Akshay Dhodi, are one of the most celebrated Dota 2 players in India and have represented topmost organizations of the country. Abhinav Tejan is India's highest-rated Tekken 7 athlete.

The winner of each region will proceed to the World Championship Finals

Following the previous World Championships, the Regional Tournaments of the World Championship will be held online from October 20th – November 22nd, 2020. Finalists from each region and title will be patched to the Finals offline in Eilat, Israel.

This year’s edition of the Esports World Championship will witness a record 60 countries taking part in it. The matches will be streamed live on IESF’s official channels.

This year’s event hosts are the Israeli Esports Association and Maccabi World Union, which partnered with IESF and the City of Eilat to host what is becoming the largest IESF event.
